[Elegy on death of Mary Greene.]
She drops a smile my weeping friends she cries,
What mean the tears that trickle from your eyes,
O! my lov'd parents could I but reveal
The vast unutterable bliss I feel
The glorious vision would your souls inspire,
And warm your bosoms with celestial fire.
Then cease the unavailing flood to pour
The curtain soon will drop your grief be o'er
And we shall meet again to part no more.
